Answer 3.(b) – Indian Army launches e-Sehat tele-consultancy for veterans Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) has launched Electronic Services e-Health Assistance and Tele-Consultation (e-Sehat) module.

E-Sehat Tele-Consultancy will enable ECHS beneficiaries to get online tele-consultation for medical treatment from their home without visiting ECHS polyclinic.

The module aims to provide health care services through secure and structured video based clinical consultation. The pilot project has been launched today in 12 ECHS polyclinics, including remote locations of Baramulla, Imphal, Churachandpur, Dimapur and Aizawl.

The 12 ECHS polyclinics conducted tele-consultation with remotely located ECHS beneficiary ex-servicemen ahead of its planned pan-India launch in November 2024.

As a part of this initiative, stipends worth Rs 100 crore have been disbursed to young graduates and diploma holders through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

These apprentices are receiving on-the-job training in various sectors including IT/ITES, manufacturing and automobile industries.

The launch of NATS 2.0 portal is a significant step towards democratising apprenticeship opportunities, bridging the skill gap and meeting the aspirations of youth and ultimately preparing them for future careers.

The portal aims to facilitate a large number of beneficiaries to register and apply for apprenticeship, as well as allow establishments and industries to efficiently manage vacancies and contracts.

Ans.5.(e) – 11 PSU banks recover Rs 2,331 crore from account holders for not maintaining minimum balance in FY24 The 11 public sector banks, excluding State Bank of India (SBI), have recovered Rs 2,331 crore from account holders for failing to maintain minimum balance in savings banks in FY24, up 25.63 per cent from Rs 1,855.43 crore in FY23.

According to Finance Ministry data, these banks have recovered Rs 5,614 crore from account holders for not maintaining minimum balance in the last three years.

SBI has stopped levying penalty for non-maintenance of minimum balance from FY20.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) collected the highest amount of Rs 633.4 crore from its customers, followed by Bank of Baroda at Rs 386.51 crore and Indian Bank at Rs 369.16 crore.

The penalty on minimum balance will be higher if the charges levied by private sector banks are taken into account. All private banks are charging huge amounts from account holders for not maintaining minimum balance in their accounts.

The Global Energy and Environment Foundation (GEEF) conferred the honour in recognition of DMRC’s efforts in water conservation and efficient use of water resources across Delhi.
